Nothing can substitute the time you spend with a child like the time you spend reading to them!

I want to make a special announcements to those of you who are book lovers like me, or to those needing to develop your love to read. My very special and precious sister, Erica Lawless recently began selling Usborne books which excited me mainly because of my love for books. Usborne does not sell adult books, but they do sell children's books which I am even more passionate about! In her book Honey for a Child's Heart, Gladys Hunt says, "Honey symbolizes the sweetness of life, that special quality that makes life sing with enjoyment for all it holds... Good books are rich in honey... you have only to read books with children to know how they react to this honey in their lives." What a great perspective from Ms. Hunt. 

Whenever I read to my children, I get to see their eyes light up with the wonder of the story. I often tell them that reading gives you wings to fly to another place, to another time; to do things you may never be able to do; you can be anybody, or anything; pick up a book and let's explore the world together! The joy of being able to pass on this "honey" through books will be a memory your children will cherish for as long as they live! Thier childhood will be that much more memorable, because of the honey you slathered them with... I know... I know... I'm running away with my excitement, but did I mention how much I love to read to my kids?
