The Breakfast Table- John Singer Sargent

?:"How does this painting make you feel? "

L: "Peaceful and quiet ~ calm morning"

A:"Not hyper and doing everything. Just makes me want to read a book and have a good breakfast."

?: "What do you think Mr. Sargent was feeling when he painted this picture and what interested him about this scene?"

L: "It seems mysterious. The colors and how things are set in the room. The light and shadows, the girl's expression on her face is interesting."

A: "Like he wanted to show a bunch of colors~ light and dark colors. He liked to see the girl look calm and read her book in the picture."

?:"What is the girl thinking/ feeling ?"

L: "She doesn't even know anybody is in in the room, she is interested in her book. Like she is so engrossed in her book, she forgot she was reading. (What you like to know what book she was reading?) Yes."

A: "She likes books. Probably she does this every day."

?: "What time period is this set in?"

L: "1800's ~ The furniture is like antique stuff. Their breakfast food is more than we eat today. The lamp is much older that we have. The pitcher is only used for decoration today."

A: "Her dress is nice. We don't dress that nice today ~ especially breakfast. It's olden times."
